I am thrilled that It Was Only Ever You won the Historical Romantic Novel category for the 2017 RoNAs (Romantic Novel Awards).

It is such an honour to win a ‘RoNA’. No matter what I start out wanting to write – somehow, I always find myself putting love and the search for happiness at the centre of every novel. So it is a huge privilege to be recognised by this prestigious organisation.

The judges called It Was Only Ever You “an extremely well-written romance, in which all the threads of the story come together well, with great characters, particularly strong women and a lovely setting, reflecting the contrasting strands of society. The author has really done her research to bring an interesting period of history to life against the backdrops of Ireland and New York.”

And I was in very good company with some cracking competition. So, if you love a good love story – check out the other winners on the RNA website.

I shared the glory with my London editor, the brilliant Rosie de Courcy and the woman behind the great Maeve Binchy – a regular RNA winner in her day. Here is an article I wrote about our special relationship.

Thank you to my readers for all your support. Awards are nice – but I write what I write for you and only as good as your last book. So – I had better get on with the next one!
